While so many others were tucked safely in bed, a man died during a house fire in the early hours of Christmas.
Orange Fire Department and police were dispatched at 1:46 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25 to the 6800 block of Farm to Market Road 1130 for a fully involved house fire.
First responders were notified a person may be trapped inside the building.
Within minutes, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames and locate James Wooten, 70, inside the residence.
Wooten was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner, Jr.
The fire and fatality are under investigation by the Orange Fire department and the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
