Bicyclist killed in wreck

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers at approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday responded to a motor vehicle crash on Farm to Market Road 105, near West Circle Road, in Orange County.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 2008 Ford pickup truck was
traveling southbound on Farm to Market Road 105. A bicyclist was traveling northbound on the southbound shoulder of Farm to Market Road 105.
For an unknown reason, the driver of the pickup truck traveled off the main traveled portion of the roadway and struck the bicyclist.
The bicyclist, Shannon Harrington, 31, of Vidor, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, Kevin Lightfoot, 18, of Silsbee, was not injured in the crash.
This is an ongoing crash investigation as Troopers work to determine
the exact factors that contributed to this fatal crash.
