NWS Lake Charles is expecting rain to begin in earnest late tonight, with the heaviest rain Thursday morning. Rain coverage will become more scattered in the afternoon. Residual rain will linger in the evening hours on Thursday before waning on Friday.

There is still a small 5% marginal risk for severe storms, primarily Thursday morning.
Rain totals should be in the 1 to 2 inch range, with locally higher amounts.
Friday will see strong northerly winds, which will cause tides to run well below normal. Low water advisories for the Sabine-Neches and Calcasieu waterways will likely be necessary on Friday.
