Several local football standouts made the Texas High School Coaches Association 2018 All-Academic State Team that was released this week.

The THSCA recognizes student athletes who excel in grade-point average, class ranks and SAT/ACT scores.

The Bridge City Cardinals placed five on the team including Jacob Cunningham (ELITE), Case Skinner (Second Team), Cory Westlund (Second Team), Manuel Gomez (Honorable Mention) and Ethan Morgan (Honorable Mention).

The Orangefield Bobcats had four on the unit including Jonah Landry (Second Team), Blake Bradley (Honorable Mention), Treyte Kuenstler (Honorable Mention) and Rthan Lozano (Honorable Mention).

The WO-S Mustangs had three on the team including Jay’zn Robinson (Second Team), Justin Sibley (Honorable Mention) and Renaldo Rose (Honorable Mention).
