Lady Bears net third in Anahuac Tournament

ANAHUAC — The LC-M Lady Bears captured the third-place trophy at the Anahuac Tournament over the weekend.

The Lady Bears defeated the host Lady Panthers 53-28 in the third-place game.

Karly Rogers paced the Lady Bears with 12 points and eight rebounds.

Chelsea Perry had nine points, eight rebounds and five steals. Amber Lester, Brielle Butler and Brittney Wyatt each scored seven points while Genesis Barclay had five points and six boards.

The Lady Bears fell to Hitchcock69-37 in the semifinals.

Perry notched 10 points and also had nine rebounds, six steals and four assists.

Barclay had nine points and eight rebounds. Wyatt collected nine points and nine boards while Rogers contributed seven points and seven rebounds.

 

LC-M boys

SOUR LAKE – The LC-M Bears wrapped up competing in the Hardin-Jefferson Marathon over the weekend.

On Saturday, the Bears dropped a tight 55-53 decision to New Caney Porter. Braden Bridges led the way with 23 points while Jesse Doucette added 18.

On Friday the Bears fell to Longview Spring Hill 54-33. D.J. Williams led LC-M with 15 points.

The Bears were nipped by Tatum 57-54. Braden Bridges led the Bears with 22 points while Jackson Smith had 15 and Jesse Doucette added 10.

The Bears bounced back to defeat Tyler Chapel Hill 59-55 in overtime.

Bridges was on fire again, tallying 37 points.
