Heritage House Christmas Open House

The Heritage House Christmas Open House will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday Dec. 9. It will be from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. Step back and experience the spirit of a traditional Victorian Christmas as it was 100 years ago. Celebration will feature a visit with Santa and his Elves, a tour of our festive holiday decorated house, and of course, cookies and punch for the kid in all of us. The event is free for all ages, bring your camera to capture each moment.

 

Keep Orange Clean

The Litter Squad will cleanup different locations throughout the city on the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. We will join forces the West Orange Stark Alumni Foundation to pick up litter. The established area is from J.B.s BBQ down towards the old Big B Donut shop. Please bring gloves and wear appropriate attire.

 

Movie night

Teens Making a Difference, WOS Key Club and WOS Drama Club present Movie night from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.  at WOS High School located at 1400 Newton Street in West Orange. Admission to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas is two non-perishable can goods per person. Concessions will be sold.

 

Monday, Dec. 10

OC Retired Teachers meeting

The next meeting of the Orange County Retired Teachers will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th Street in Orange. The speaker will be our Second Vice-President, Judy Williams, presenting information for members about Identity Theft and Senior Safety. Also, the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Bridge City will provide Holiday music with their Bell Choir. There will be a covered dish luncheon provided by members. Guests are welcome.

 

OCF Night Bunco

OCF Night Bunco will take place at 6 p.m. at the home of Bonnie Hopperton.  This will also be a cookie or candy exchange, so bring a dozen of your favorite cookies or confections to share.  Cost is $10 per person.  Contact Carolyn at 409.779.0208 by phone or text for more information.

 

70th Annual Orange Christmas Parade

The Kiwanis Club of Orange presents An Olde World Christmas from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 11

Networking Coffee

Bridge City Chamber of Commerce will hold Networking Coffee at 8 a.m. hosted by Bridge City ISD at the Bridge City High School Library located at 2690 Texas Ave. in Bridge City.

 

OCF Christmas luncheon

The OCF Christmas luncheon is to be held at 10:45 a.m. at the Old Orange Cafe, downtown Orange, 914 Division Street.  To attend, you must text Anne, 409-313-7575, or email her at the following,  annieoakley1116@gmail.com, remembering to leave your name & how many in reservations.  Chef & Owner David Claybar will select 3 items from his menu from which we will choose.  Also, each attendee is asked to bring a holiday ornament for a Chinese ornament exchange, with a $5 minimum & $10 max.  Please note that this is a change of venue from original schedule.  We need a large venue since this is always a well-attended event, so Old Orange Cafe is the perfect choice.  FYI:  OCF still needs to find a Sunshine Committee Chair to send members birthday, get well, sympathy, and congratulations cards. The luncheon cost for members is courtesy of OCF.  Guests are asked to pay.

 

Acts of Praise Fundraiser

St. Paul CME Church is holding an ‘Acts of Praise’ Praise Dance Ministry Fundraiser from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Dairy Queen located at 321 Strickland Drive in Orange. Be sure to mention ‘Acts of Praise’ when you order and the Dance Ministry will receive a percentage of your purchase.

 

 

Wednesday, Dec. 12

Golden K Kiwanis meeting

Laura Moore, a retired law enforcement officer, will be the guest speaker of Golden K Kiwanis, as Moore discusses her current job as a full time mother of 7 teen foster children, two of whom she and her husband have now adopted.  She and her husband have formed the Anderson-Moore Foundation to assist children and families in need.  The Golden K meeting is held each Wed. at 9:30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Bldg., MLK and Strickland in Orange.  The public is welcome, and coffee is served.
