Weather once again wreaks havoc on Orange traditions.

With predictions of a 100-percent chance of rain on Friday, the Orange Christmas Parade has been moved to 6 p.m. Monday.

Due to the last minute changes, the tree lighting ceremony and the market scheduled have been canceled, according to a Facebook Kiwanis Club of Orange, TX post.

The club is still accepting applications for floats.

The route for the Orange Parade will start at 8th and Front Street. Proceed west down Front to 10th Street. Then North on 10th Street to Green Ave. Then head east on Green Ave to 4th Street.
Go south on 4th Street to Front Street and then west on Front Street to 4th Street. Proceed south on 5th to W. Division Street.
Lastly, go west on W. Division Street to the Orange Riverfront Pavilion.

Vehicles and Floats may park in the Orange City parking lots that surround the area.

Monday’s weather is predicted to be sunny with a high of 55 and a low of 37.

Bridge City Christmas Lights Parade is still on schedule for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

“We have extended our deadline for entry applicants,” B.J. Hanneman, Director Bridge City Chamber of Commerce & Historical Museum, said. “So there is still time to enter. The deadline is now Friday, Dec. 7.”

The parade route will begin on West Roundbunch Road starting at the First Baptist and ending at Bridge City Intermediate School.

Entry fee for the parade is a donated toy from each participant on the float.  The toys collected will go to the Bridge City/Orangefield Ministerial Alliance for their Christmas Toy Drive which benefits needy children in the Bridge City/Orangefield area.
