WO-S grad Miller, MH-B Crusaders heading to D3 National Semifinals

BELTON – Former West Orange-Stark standout K.J. Miller and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders continue through an amazing trek through the playoffs as they defeated St. John (Minn.) 21-18 in the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals last Saturday.

Miller hauled in a 41-yard touchdown toss and finished with five receptions for 59 yards while also bringing back a punt return 23 yards.

The Crusaders (13-0) remain perfect on the season while handing St. John (12-1) its only loss of the season.

For the campaign, Miller now has 40 receptions, which is tied for the team lead, for 549 yards and four TDs. He has returned 24 punts for 608 yards in averaging 25.3 yards a return.

Miller, the 2017 Orange Leader Male Athlete of the Year, and the Crusaders will play host to Wisconsin-Whitewater (12-0) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with a berth in the Stagg Bowl on the line. The other national semifinal will pit Mount Union against Johns Hopkins.
