Mustangs go to 5-1, win Evadale Tourney

EVADALE – The West Orange-Stark Mustangs zipped their record to 5-1 on the season by winning three games and taking the championship trophy back home from the Evadale Tournament last Friday.

The Mustangs toppled the Liberty Panthers 47-46 to nab the title.

Terron Brown paced the Mustangs with 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. Donanerius Brown chimed in with 11 points and six boards while Labarius Spraggins added 10 points.

The Mustangs defeated Shepherd 59-32 behind a huge Terron Brown effort. He finished with 29 points to go along with nine boards and five steals. Donanerius Brown collected 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Spraggins added seven points.

The Mustangs also defeated Southwest Louisiana Home School 44-37.

Donanerius Brown had 15 points and nine rebounds. Terron Brown scored 13 points and snagged nine boards. Nakai Arnold pitched in with 10 points while Terry Harris had five assists.

The Mustangs will visit Nederland Tuesday.
