Golden K Kiwanis meeting

Jackie Huckabay of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) will discuss Units Overseas and how Golden K Kiwanians are able to help various groups overseas. Golden K Kiwanis meetings are held each Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Building Meeting Room, corner of MLK and Strickland, across from the Shell and a fire station. The mission of Golden K Kiwanis is children. The public is invited, and coffee is served.

 

OCF Day Bunco

Orange County Friends Day Bunco begins with ordering Dutch treat lunch at 11 a.m. at Tuffy’s Restaurant in Mauriceville, located at Hwys. 62 & 12.  The cost to play is $5 per person.  Text/call Diane, 409.988.3243 for more details.

Christmas Tree Lighting

The Mauriceville Heritage Association will host the Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. The tree will be located just off Hwy 12 at 11041 Hwy 12. Several activities are planned as well as an appearance by Santa.

 

OCF Book Club

Anne Payne reviews “A CHRISTMAS CAROL,” a traditional holiday novella by Charles Dickens, at 2 p.m. at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, Orange.  Food is always ordered before the review begins. Text or call Diane for more details at 409-988-9635.

OCF Creative Corner

Debra McCombs, Creative Corner Chair, Newsletter Chair, and Membership Co-Chair, will be at First United Methodist Church all day, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. to help us on fun projects, even a re-do for those unable to attend in Sept. for the little watering can project.  A new project will be offered, Christmas centerpieces for the OCF Christmas Banquet.  If you make 2 centerpieces, one is yours to take home.  There will be only a small charge for materials.  Debra has a degree in Commercial Art from Oklahoma State University Technical College, Okmulgee, OK. Breakfast with Santa and Rudolph

St. Paul UMC, 1155 West Roundbunch Road in Bridge City will host Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. The event will include all you can eat breakfast buffet, reindeer games, a visit with Santa and pictures with Santa. Cost is $10 each. Adults and children will need a ticket.

 

Beary Merry Christmas Market

The Beary Merry Christmas Market will be hosted by the LC-M Education Foundation Inc. at LC-M High School from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Shop for the holidays from over 50 participating vendors. There will be gifts, food, games, entertainment and silent auction. $10 tickets include: Christmas story read by Mrs. Claus, cookies and milk, a book of your own and a picture with Santa Claus. Limited tickets available and may be purchased at the LC-M Admin Building and Mauriceville Elementary. There are $5 photos with Santa Claus beginning at 12:45 p.m. Market tickets are $3. Under 12 is free. All proceeds go toward the LC-M Education Foundation Inc. “Grants to Educators” Program.

 

Jr. NBA Skills Challenge

Participation is free, open to boys and girls 13-and-Under. Compete for the chance to win an all-expense paid trip to New York City. The host is the Orange County Stark Tigers –Jr. NBA/WNBA Association. It will be held Dec. 1-2 starting at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic School.
