K.J. Miller and Cru keep on “cruising” in the playoffs

BELTON — Former West Orange-Stark standout K.J. Miller was inspirational in the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s 75-9 thrashing over Berry College in the NCAA Second Round playoff game Saturday.

Miller hauled in a 34-yard touchdown pass, had a kickoff return for 61 yards to set up another score and brought back a punt 27 yards.

The Cru, now 12-0, move on to the National Quarterfinals this coming weekend.

The Cru totally dominated Berry, outgaining them 575-205 in the lopsided victory.

Mary Hardin-Baylor will host Saint John’s (MN.) in the quarterfinals Saturday at noon.

Miller has hauled in 35 receptions for 490 yards and three TDs for the season and is the team’s second leading receiver. He has returned 23 punts for a stunning 585 yards and three TDs and has eight kickoff returns for 207 yards.
