Bobcats run past Bob Hope, 78-23

ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield Bobcats evened their record at 1-1 for the season by ditching Bob Hope 78-23 at Bobcat Gym Monday night.

Valentin Catt led the Bobcats with a double-double, scoring 16 points and snagging 12 rebounds while adding five blocked shots.

Bryce Bergeron had 12 points for the Bobcats. Cade Prejean notched nine points. Colby Gonzales chimed in with eight points and nine rebounds. Coy Bryant had eight points while Clayson Choate contributed seven points, seven assists and five steals.

The Bobcats dropped a 57-42 decision to the Vidor Pirates in their season opener.

The Bobcats led the Pirates 40-39 going into the final period but the Pirates pulled away with a 18-2 run.

Valentin Catt paced the Bobcat attack with a double-double, scoring 14 points while snagging 11 rebounds while also blocking five shots.

Cade Prejean had 13 points for the Bobcats. Tyrone Waggoner chipped in with eight assists and four steals.
