VIDOR — The Orangefield Bobcats dropped a 57-42 decision to the Vidor Pirates in their season opener.

The Bobcats led the Pirates 40-39 going into the final period but the Pirates pulled away with a 18-2 run.

Valentin Catt paced the Bobcat attack with a double-double, scoring 14 points while snagging 11 rebounds while also blocking five shots.

Cade Prejean had 13 points for the Bobcats. Tyrone Waggoner chipped in with eight assists and four steals.
