Man barricades himself inside home when police attempt to arrest him for domestic battery

PRESS RELEASE — On Saturday, November 10, 2018, at approximately 9:18 p.m., the Lake Charles Police Department was assigned to 809 13th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers could hear a disturbance inside of the residence, but could not get anyone to answer the door.

Officers eventually met with the victim and learned her boyfriend/suspect committed battery upon her. The suspect refused to submit peacefully and barricaded himself inside of the residence.

The LCPD SWAT team and LCPD negotiators were called out to resolve this matter peacefully. After nearly 2 hours, the suspect exited the residence and was arrested without further incident.

The suspect, Kenneth Pete, 39, residing at 809 13th Street was arrested and charged with domestic abuse battery.

Officers John Saunier and Brandon McNeeley were the initial responding Officers.
