To The Leader

Vidor Rotarians will host their annual chili dinner on Tuesday, November 6, Election Day.  President Sharon Grissom urges patrons to go vote and then come out to enjoy some delicious chili cooked by the members of Vidor Rotary Club.

“We have chili and rice and crackers for only $5 a ticket.  You can purchase drinks and dessert at the meal, and you can even sit down for some good entertainment with our own Vidor ISD students.  What could be better than that?” says Grissom.

Tickets may be purchased from any Vidor Rotary Club member, and can also be bought at the door.  The event begins at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. and takes place in the Vidor Elementary cafeteria.  Dine in and carry out are both available.

The performance schedule is:

  • 3:40 — Vidor Elementary choir
  • 4:00 — Oak Forest choir
  • 4:20 — Vidor Junior High choir soloists
  • 4:30 — Vidor High School Brigadettes
  • 5:00 — Vidor Junior High Brig squad leaders
  • 5:30 — Vidor Junior High School Pirate Players
  • 6:00 — Vidor Junior High School and Vidor High School Twirlers

Proceeds from the chili dinner support the green bus Read and Feed program, which takes meals and books to children and youth in low-income areas in Vidor, and supports Vidor schools with books for student rewards.   Proceeds also support the many other fine programs of Vidor Rotary Club.  The club meets on Mondays at noon at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main, Vidor.
