To The Leader

Each year, the United States honors the contributions that Latinos have made to our country with a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration that runs from September 15 to October 15. During this annual celebration, the contributions and achievements of Hispanics/Latinos in the US are honored as well as their culture and traditions.

St. Mary Catholic School held their first Hispanic Month Program on Friday, October 12.

St. Mary prides itself on encouraging our students to be part of a global society, preparing them to live in an ever-changing world as self-directed, caring responsible citizens.   We are very proud of the diversity at our school and it is important that all students have an opportunity to celebrate and share the richness of their culture with everyone.

We were honored to have Mayor Larry Spears Jr. and Attorney Gail Shaw Barnett as guest speakers and a spectacular performance by the Ballet Folklorico
