Plenty of ways to celebrate the season

From ghosts and goblins to just celebrating the season of fall, there is are several events scheduled for residents to enjoy.

From a haunted school, trunk or treats and fall festivals, one is sure to find the right event for children of all ages.

 

Haunted School

Deweyville Project Safe Graduation 2019 is hosting Haunted School at 272 Spur Street in Deweyville from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. Oct. 20, and 22 as well as from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 31. Entry fee is $5.

 

Fall Festival

Come to join us at MacArthur Heights Baptist Church for our annual Fall Festival from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. MacArthur Heights Baptist Church is located at the corner of Nightingale and Strickland Drive in Pinehurst. Come to enjoy food, candy, games prizes and rides. For all children through 7th grade.

 

Community Trunk or Treat, Fall Festival

Grace Lutheran Church will be sponsoring a Community Trunk or Treat 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Memorial Field parking lot on Eddleman Road in Orange.

Register your vehicle now for the trunk or treat part of our Halloween Festival.  Entry is only $10 per vehicle and the community will vote on the best trunk.  Cash prizes for the 1st and 2nd place.

Pick your favorite theme and show us your best spooky or not so spooky trunk.  Don’t forget the candy for all those little goblins.  Each trunk or treater will get to vote for their very favorite spot.  1st place receives $100 cash.  2nd place receives $50 cash.  For details and an entry form, call and leave a message at 409-883-5145 or email gracesec1@att.net.

Inappropriate themes will not be allowed.  A minimum of 25 cars needed for an event to be held. Halloween Festival will be held across the street at Grace Lutheran Church.  Crossing Guard will be there to help in crossing Eddleman Road to the church.

 

Fall Festival 2018

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 1155 West Roundbunch Road in Bridge City. We will have inflatables, food/drink concessions, snow cones, horse rides, train rides, trunk or treat, and more. Bring a bag to collect your treats!

 

Octoberfest 2018

Lamar State College-Orange will host Octoberfest 2018 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct, 30 outside the Student Center. Costume contest starts at 6:15 p.m. for age groups 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-17 and 18+. There will also be ghoulish games, trick o treating, and Best Booth contest. Trunk or Treat

Orange First Church of the Nazarene, 3810 Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Orange will host Trunk or Treat at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Activities will include candy, games, face painting, jump house, hayride, concessions for sale and more. The event is for the whole family.

Calvary Baptist Church, 2402 Western Ave, in West Orange is having our annual Trunk Or Treat on Oct. 31st from 6pm-7:30. The public is invited.

First United Methodist Orange, 502 N 6th St, will also host family-friendly Halloween activities 5:30 – 7:00

 

Fall Festival 

Halloween evening, October 31, will be a time of fun from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1819 16th Street in Orange.  Skye and Marshall of the Paw Patrol will be in attendance taking photos with children, giving hugs, and greeting everyone.  Activities include inflatables, face painting, and fall lawn games to entertain children of many ages.  Every attendee will receive a bag of candy and admission is free.  The Fall Festival is a family-friendly event, so mark those calendars. Halloween Bash

Heritage Center will host its first Halloween Bash from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Wed. Oct. 31. The event will be held indoors at 100 College Street in Orange. Everyone is invited.
