BRIDGE CITY — University of Texas-Arlington standout track star and former Bridge City Lady Cardinal standout Alexus Henry was honored between the third and fourth quarter of the Bridge City-LC-M football game last Friday night.

Henry, who will be going into her senior campaign for the Lady Mavericks this upcoming season, won the high jump at the NCAA Championships this past spring, becoming the first Lady Maverick to ever win a national title.

She also holds the UTA school records in the high jump, hepthathlon and the pentathlon.

Henry was a three-sport star at Bridge City High School and was a standout in track, volleyball and basketball. She was named the Orange Leader’s Female Athlete of the Year in both 2014 and 2015.
