Newton County Sheriff’s Office Report 10.8.18

Published 11:23 am Monday, October 8, 2018

Hope everyone had a good week. Let’s see what all went on around here.

Let me start off by asking you to remember the family of Brad Jimmerson from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office in your prayers. Brad was killed in the line of duty over the weekend.

We received a call about a major accident in Burkeville area. Deputy Owens responded and located approximately 23 grams of a white crystal substance. It tested positive for meth. Bad guy in jail. He had 6 warrants out of New Mexico. They will be getting him as soon as we’re done with him. He also has 2 charges out of Newton. Thanks to Burkeville Fire Dept

We confiscated several marijuana plants from a residence in the Bon Wier area. Also, some drug paraphernalia. One man was arrested.

We have so many calls about neighbor’s dogs fighting with neighbor’s dogs. Neighbors shooting neighbor’s dogs and it goes on and on. Please, I beg ya, be a responsible dog owner. Keep em home.

Gotta go

Thought for The Week: Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections. Ya’llhave a great week and if we can help, just holler. God Bless
