PRESS RELEASE — Above normal rain chances are expected this weekend into next week. No widespread severe weather is expected, but there could be some street flooding during periods of heavy rain.

Temperatures will run 10 to 15 degrees above normal at night, and be near normal to slightly above normal for the high temperatures in the afternoon.

Monday and Tuesday will be windy, with gusts of 25 to 30 mph expected. This could extend later in the week depending on tropical development in the Gulf.
Due to a strong onshore flow, tides will run around a foot above normal through the weekend into next week.
In the tropics, we are monitoring a broad low pressure area in the southwestern Caribbean. It has a medium 40% chance for tropical development late this weekend into next week. It should be entering the southern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. Everyone should be prepared to monitor updates through the holiday weekend and next week.
