PRESS RELEASE — We received a call from a juvenile who stated he ran away from home three months ago.

He gave us his name and we started working on it. Sure enough he was reported as missing in Kaplan, La. June 9, 2018. He said he had been living in the woods in the Deweyville area and was ready to go home. We went and picked him up and Kaplan Police Department came and got him.

Received a 911 call from a citizen saying that suspicious activity is taking place at the old prison. They said that a truck and trailer was backed up to the prison. Officers were notified. Before we got there, they left and we closed in on them and several officers were involved in their arrest. Gotta be the dumb criminals of the month. Breaking out of prison is one thing, but breaking into a prison? What dummies. Thanks for the call Chris.

People on County Road 3023 needed an ambulance early Wednesday morning. None available. We had to get an ambulance out of Beaumont. Wow, that has to be fixed.

We had a break-in at our evidence storage yard. Thieves stole a side by side that had been stolen a couple weeks ago and recovered. Embarrassing to say the least. Help would be appreciated. It’s black and orange, big speakers, double seater, jacked up and big tires. Free get out of jail card if you can help us get it back.

Gotta go: Thought of the week. Life is not about how you survive the storm, it’s about how you dance in the rain. Ya’ll have a good week and if we can help, just holler. God Bless.
