BRIDGE CITY – The Bridge City Lady Cardinals motored past the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs to nab their first district win of the season 25-2, 25-13, 26-24.

Rylee Oceguera paced the Lady Cardinals (1-5 in district) with 10 kills. Hannah Wiegreffe had five kills while Peyton Trapp and Carissa Slaughter had for apiece.

Oceguera had a strong service game working as she piled up 11 aces while Trapp had three and Kyndall Harrison had two.

Waverlee Cooper had 16 assists for the Lady Cardinals while Aleah McClanahan had13 digs and Harrison seven.

The Lady Cardinals will host Hamshire-Fannett Tuesday while the Lady Mustangs (0-6 in district) have a bye and will visit Hamshire-Fannett next Friday.

BUNA — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats went on the road and snared a big five-game District 22-3A win against the Buna Lady Cardinals Friday to improve to 24-8 overall but more importantly 6-1 to wrap up the first half of district play.

Bailee Clickand Faith Fregia led the Lady Bobcats with a whopping 20 kills apiece while Devany Crain had 12 and Mackenzie Davis four.

Davis also put together 35 assists while Tiffany Ciangalione added 22.

Lily Saucedo put together 53 digs while Davis had 42 and Fregia added 36.

The Lady Bobcats will travel to Warren Tuesday.
