NWS Lake Charles tropical update

NHC has a low 20% chance for tropical development in the eastern Atlantic Ocean later this weekend. A tropical wave is expected to move off the coast of Africa this Thursday. This system is still a long ways out and poses no threat to us over the next week.

Meanwhile, a trough axis is expected to enter the eastern Gulf of Mexico early next week. While some weather models have been showing some possible development of this system next week, it is too early to say if this will be a threat for tropical development. If nothing else, it means we will see higher than normal rain chances next week, and likely above normal tides.
We will continue to provide updates as we go through this week on the unsettled weather pattern next week.
