Parolee arrested for narcotics possession

A traffic stop lands a parolee back in jail.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division along with Investigators with the City of Orange Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:33 p.m. on Wednesday on a white Chevrolet two door caprice at Main and Interstate 10, Vidor, Orange County, Texas.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Melvin Wedgeworth, 32, of Vidor.

Investigators asked Wedgeworth to step out of the vehicle and upon doing so Wedgeworth was observed tossing a bag of methamphetamine to the ground. The bag of methamphetamine was recovered by Investigators as they observed it landing near his feet.

Wedgeworth, who is on parole, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance greater than Four Grans but less than 200 grams a felony of the 2nd Degree.   He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
