LITTLE CYPRESS — Little Cypress-Mauriceville senior pitcher Brianna Frenzel has verbally committed to play collegiate softball for the LSU-Eunice Bengals.
Frenzel has been a key cog for the Lady Bears on the mound and at the plate the last three seasons as LC-M has punched their way into the postseason.
As a junior, Frenzel tossed 96 innings and posted a 12-1 record on the bump while striking out 120 and walking just 18. She also hit .315 with three home runs and 19 runs batted in as the Lady Bears roared to a 25-6 record and a trip to the area round of the playoffs.
After she tries to help lead the Lady Bears to a district crown this season, she will head to LSU-Eunice, which has claimed five national championships at the NJCAA level. The pitching coach there is former LC-M Lady Bear and LSU-Eunice standout Raven Cole.
