Cross Country season about to start; schedules set

Another year of Southeast Texas cross country action will crank up this week with the Huffman Hargrave Invitational.
Orange County had quite a run last year and has two defending District 22-4A champions returning as Little Cypress-Mauriceville senior Eli Peveto and Orangefield Lady Bobcat junior Maddison Helm will look to have another tremendous run.
Here is the 2018 area cross country schedule:
Aug. 17: Huffman Hargrave invitational , Huffman-Hargrave HS
Aug. 25: Bridge City’s Rick Miller races, Claiborne Park, Vidor
Sept. 1: Stephen F. Austin invitational, Pecan Park, Nacogdoches
Sept. 1: BC Cardinal Classic races, Claiborne Park, Vidor
Sept. 8: Nederland invitational, Doornbos Park, Nederland
Sept. 8: Region III preview invitational, Kate Barr-Ross Park, Huntsville
Sept. 15: Dayton Bronco invitational, Dayton High School
Sept. 22: Pleasure Island CC meet, PI frisbee park, Port Arthur
Sept. 22: Barbers Hill Eagle CC meet, BHHS, Mont Belvieu
Sept. 29: Tony Munson CC invitational, Liberty Municipal city park
Oct. 6: Lake Houston CC invitational, Huffman-Hargrave HS
Oct. 9: District 22-4A championships, Claiborne Park, Vidor
Oct. 9: District 21-5A championships, Claiborne Park, Vidor
