Over 400 conservationists enjoyed the 10th annual Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Banquet Thursday, August 9 at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center. The Orange County branch of CCA was formed in 2008. CCA began in Texas in 1977, which is home to 62 chapters. CCA has grown to include chapters in all states with a coastal boundary.
The purpose of CCA, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to marine conservation such as the Sabine Lake oyster reef restoration and expansion projects.
Orange County President Scott Bandy expects this years proceeds to exceed $100,000 toward their cause.
