With much anticipation, the staff of The Orange Leader is looking forward to the Holiday Cookbook set to be in your paper November 17, 2018.

We kicked off the announcement of such culinary delight with advertisement, in July, requesting readers to submit their favorite recipe for the special edition.

The response has been mouthwatering temptation as new recipes continue to show up in the mail and email.

I encourage groups and churches to have members send their favorite recipes.

Having recently joined a new church, I discovered one must have a casserole dish for those times members need a meal.

I also learned I do not know how to make a casserole anymore. I am sure there was a time I could, but those days are long past.

I made a promise I would not try any of the submitted recipes until the cookbook was safely in your hands. However, seeing the recipes as they arrive is making it difficult to keep the promise. So far, I have behaved.

Keep the recipes coming by sending them to news@orangeleader.com or mail them to The Orange Leader, 841B Dal Sasso Drive, Orange, Texas 77630.

Businesses wishing to advertise, in what is sure to be a keepsake for years to come, contact Candi at 409-883-5209 or email her at Candice.trahan@orangeleader.com

Meanwhile, I am wondering if I should submit my seven spices shark recipe or maybe my redfish with red sauce? Most likely, I will opt for a less spicy recipe.
