An18-wheeler fire kept Vinton firefighters busy early Sunday morning, as they had to battle a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 10 in Louisiana.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Vinton and Ward 7 Fire Departments were dispatched to the area of Interstate 10 eastbound near the milepost 8 in reference to an 18-wheeler fire.

Upon arrival on scene, officers found a trailer fully engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the interstate. The driver was able to detach the cab from the trailer, which kept the fire only to the trailer.

One lane of Interstate 10 had to be shut down while firefighters work to fight the fire and clean up the debris.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

It appears he was transporting refrigerated food items in the trailer.
