Over 7,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations across the country. Among them was Children’s Kingdom Ministries Inc. in Pinehurst.

Liz Hogan was one of thousands of Allstate agents across the country volunteering for the causes they care about most. For Hogan, it was Children’s Kingdom Ministries Inc.

Through the Allstate Foundation’s Helping Hands grant program, agency owners, like Hogan, who volunteer, earn $1,000 for the nonprofit they volunteer with.

Hogan has volunteered with Children’s Kingdom Ministries since 2016. She even dressed as a lion as she volunteered at the Kingdom Zoo Fall Festival, where she passed out prizes to children at her “Wizard of Oz” themed booth.

Any Allstate agency owner, financial specialist or licensed staff who volunteers with an organization can apply for a grant. In 2017, more than 7,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations across the country. The Helping Hands grant program supports organizations addressing domestic violence, youth empowerment, disaster preparedness, hunger and other causes, according to Allstate Senior Communication Consultant Corporate Relations – Texas region Katylin Johnson.

Allstate donated more than $41 million to local nonprofits in 2017.
