A homeowner is forced to start rebuilding his home all over again after it caught on fire Friday afternoon.
The City of Orange Fire Department, around 4:15 p.m., responded to the 4400 Block of HillBrook Drive in Orange in reference to a kitchen fire.
According to the homeowner, he was doing some sweating copper tubing in the kitchen sink when the wall caught fire. The fire quickly spread to the attic and parts of the garage.
He was able to get out of the house safely and quickly and call 911. Firefighters arrived on scene and found heavy smoke coming from the attic and the garage area of the home.
The fire was quickly contained to the north end of the home. The structure received fire damage to the kitchen and the attic along with smoke and water damage.
The homeowner said he was scheduled to move back into his residence within the next two weeks after the home flooded during Hurricane Harvey flooding.
No injuries were reported from the fire.
