On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 3:50 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to a Burglary in progress at Walgreen’s, located at 3990 E. Lucas. A witness observed a vehicle back into the store to gain entry then saw multiple suspects enter the business.

The suspects were then seen leaving in a dark colored sedan and a white van. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that the suspects had stolen the ATM from inside the business and had abandoned the white Ford E-250 van used to back into the store.

That van was later discovered to have been stolen from Sam’s Package Store, located at 4350 E. Lucas, prior to the Walgreen’s burglary. Another Officer then located a white Ford E-250 van traveling West on IH-10 E that matched the description of the van seen leaving the scene.

The Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, however the suspects fled.

After a short time fleeing from Officers, the suspects abandoned the van, which was later found to be stolen from Cheddar’s restaurant, and fled on foot in the 7900 block of Gleneagles Dr. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, however, were unable to locate the suspects.

The stolen ATM was located inside of the van on Gleneagles Dr. Upon reviewing surveillance video from the incident, it appears that at least 12 suspects, all wearing masks and dark colored clothing were involved in the multiple crimes.

Beaumont Police Detectives are asking anyone with information about these crimes to call BPD at 409-832-1234 or Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477).
