A vehicle stalled on the track as a approaching train was coming at approximately 5 p.m. at the 600 block of South DeWitt Street in Vidor.

The train was not traveling at a high rate of speed and was able to begin slowing to a stop but not before colliding with the back of the Ford pickup truck.

The driver attempted to push the vehicle off the tracks but was unable to clear the tracks, according to a press release.

Acadian Ambulance assessed both patients on scene.

One patient refused treatment and Acadian Ambulance transported the other according to the scanner.

Vidor Police Department wants to remind everyone to be careful around Railroad tracks as trains are not able to stop prior to striking a vehicle in their right of way.
