Motorcyclist in critical condition after crash

A motorcyclist, had to be airlifted after a crash on Friday night when he was hit by a vehicle exiting the Holiday Inn Express parking lot.

A motorcycle was traveling eastbound in 2600 block of East Lutcher Drive Service Road in Orange when a Ford Mustang struck it shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday.

The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle driver to be thrown in a ditch along the interstate.

Orange Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance arrived and assessed the patient on scene.

A helicopter was called in to transport the driver due to the severity of injuries.

The driver of the Mustang was taken to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas Hospital where for alcohol blood testing and results are pending.

The service road was closed for about two hours for the investigation and the crash remains under investigation.
