Hightower, Cole to speak in Beaumont

SouthEast Texas Progressives and Golden Triangle Indivisible announced Texas native and National radio commentator, writer, public speaker, and author, Jim Hightower and Southeast Texas Progressives will be teaming up for a talk on Medicare for All which be held at 6 p.m. at USW Hall 13-243 located at 2490 S 11th Street, in Beaumont, on Monday, June 18.

At the event, Jim Hightower will share his vision and argument for Medicare for All in the 21st Century as part of his Whistle Stop Talk.

The twice elected Texas Agriculture Commissioner has since become a nationally known figure in the progressive and popular movement.

Hightower has penned seven books, writes a monthly newsletter, and appears regularly on Television and Radio programs.

He is being joined by Former US Congressional Candidate, Michael Cole, who is also a passionate advocate for expanding Medicare.

 

Cole currently writes a daily blog, an editorial column for The Orange Leader and consults with other progressive candidates that are vying for positions in 2018.

Orange County Democratic Chair-Elect Louis Ackerman remarked, “We are excited that our grassroots efforts have gotten national spotlight. This is a great event we have coming up and we are excited to have such a passionate figure here to speak.”
