Bridge City Police Chief Honored

BRIDGE CITY — Bridge City council member Tammi Fisette honored Police Chief Paul Davis, during a recent council meeting, noting Davis’ recent award from the Director of Public Safety for his leadership efforts during Hurricane Harvey response and recovery.
Davis responded saying it was an honor to receive the award but he received it on behalf of all the men and women within the police department and emergency management system who made the response and recovery effort an example of effective public safety.
In other business, City Manager Jerry Jones said he is continuing to look for grant funds to help the city replenish monies spent during Hurricane Harvey recovery.
The council approved the appointment of Eric Reeves to an alternate position on the Board of Adjustment.
Lastly, the council approved a request by Lance Guidry for the city to extend sewer service to his property described as Lot 13 and Lot 14 on Nelson Street, located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city.
