Bridge City standout pitcher Kassidy Wilbur continues to pick up accolades as she gets ready to continue to hone her craft at Stephen F. Austin University as she was named to the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association All-State Class 4A Softball Team that was recently announced.

Wilbur was selected as the Most Valuable Player on the All-District 22-4A Softball Team this season and is a four-time MVP of the All-Orange Leader Softball Team.

Wilbur was such a key cog in leading the Lady Cardinals to a 27-9-1 overall record and a perfect 10-0 run through a talented 22-4A district.

During her senior campaign Wilbur netted a 22-4 record on the mound with a earned run average of 0.89. She struck out 276 batters and only walked 27 in 165 innings of work.

Despite not being pitched to, due to opponents’ fears at the plate, Wilbur had a superb year with her bat again as she notched a .430 average with 11 home runs, nine doubles and 34 runs batted in.

Wilbur was not the only Southeast Texas player that made the All-State list.

Also in Class 4A, state champion Liberty placed Baylee Chandler, Jaylen Prichard and Kaci West on the 4A Team.

Buna’s Presley Glende and Marcie Moss each made the All-State 3A Team while Evadale’s Savannah Wilson made the All-State Class 2A Team.
