Former West Orange-Stark standout Grant Anderson, of McNeese State University, got drafted in the Major League Baseball Draft Wednesday, going in the 21st round with the 628th pick to the Seattle Mariners.

Anderson, a junior last season, was 4-7 on the mound for the Cowboys with a 3.86 ERA. He worked 81 2/3 innings and had 72 strikeouts.

In 2017 Anderson was one of the top bullpen pitchers in the Southland Conference. All of his appearances came out of the bullpen in which he finished with a 8-0 record with a 2.30 ERA in 31 appearances.

Anderson was a key cog in helping WO-S  reach the Class 4A State Championship Game in 2015.
