Former Orangefield baseball coach Jeff Bennett will become the new Beaumont United baseball coach.

Bennett, who had a superb run while he was at Orangefield, had been the head coach at Kirbyville the past seven seasons before being replaced by Craig Jones this season.

Bennett led the Wildcats to the Class 3A Region III Finals last season. He guided Kirbyville to district titles in 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Bennett will look to build a fresh, new program at Beaumont United, which will inherit players from the old Beaumont schools that consisted of players from both Central and Ozen. Central and Ozen combined to go 2-22 in a rugged District 22-5A play last season.
