The National Hurricane Center has upgraded the system off the Yucatan Peninsula to Subtropical Storm Alberto. It is expected to reach the Gulf coast between southeast Louisiana and the Florida panhandle on Monday. It could be a high-end tropical storm with winds of 60 mph by landfall. After it makes landfall, it will be a slow mover, so it is likely to produce a lot of rain in parts of the southeastern United States.

Local weather impacts still shows a drying trend Sunday into next week, with afternoon high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 90s.
We will continue to provide updates through the weekend, as south central Louisiana is close to the forecast cone of error as it nears landfall on Monday.
