The low pressure area near the southeastern section of the Yucatan Peninsula is slowly getting better organized. The National Hurricane Center has increased the chances for tropical development to a high 80%, with development expected this weekend in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. Projections for landfall range from Louisiana to Florida early next week.
Local impacts from this system will be increased rain chances, especially the further east you go. As much as one to three inches of rain could be seen through early next week.
