We are monitoring an area of disturbed weather in the Caribbean Sea, which is forecast to reach the Gulf of Mexico towards the end of this week. The National Hurricane Center gives this system a low 20% chance of tropical development.
It is too early to say whether this system will become the first named tropical system, but it is worth monitoring this week as it could be a threat to Louisiana later this weekend or early next week.
