Frederick, Fraccastoro net ALL-SLC softball honors

Honors keep flowing in for former Orange County softball standouts with the release of the All-Southland Conference Softball Team that was announced on Monday as Kasey Frederick and Taylor Fraccastoro each made the elite unit.
For the second straight season Bridge City product and Nicholls State standout Kasey Frederick has been named to the First Team on the All-SLC unit.
Frederick, a junior, leads the red-hot Lady Colonels at the plate, hitting an amazing .371, which ranks fourth in the SLC. She also leads the team with 40 runs batted in and 16 doubles and also has six home runs.
The Lady Colonels are currently 38-13 overall and are the top seed at the Southland Conference Tournament, which started on Tuesday. Nicholls State had a conference record of 21-6.
Fraccastoro, a Little Cypress-Mauriceville standout, is wrapping up a tremendous run at Stephen F. Austin University. She made the ll-SLC Team as the Second Team catcher.
Fraccastoro, a senior, has had a tremendous campaign, batting .286 for the Lady Jacks . She has nine home runs and 39 RBI and leads the squad with 44 runs scored.
The Lady Jacks are the No. 2 seed in the SLC Tournament. They are currently 31-20 overall and went 18-9 in SLC play.
