Seven baseballers make Academic All-State

Seven Orange County baseball players were named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Class 4A Team that was recently released.

West Orange-Stark’s Kaleb Ramsey was a First Team All-State All-Academic while teammate Chad Dallas was Honorable Mention.

Bridge City had four players make the elite unit.

Caleb DuBois, Luc Hollier and Nolan Moore made Second Team and Jacob Goodman made Honorable Mention.

Orangefield’s Ryan Deutsch also made Honorable Mention.

Other Southeast Texans that made All-State Academic includes Port Neches-Groves’ Cameron Abate, Austin Bost, Alec LeBouef, Nick Nguyen, Michael Powers, Candler Resch and Cameron Stansbury.

Newton’s Kyle Adams, Daniel Barron, Isaac Causey and Brennon Carr.

East Chambers’ Luke Devillier, Kaevon Harmon, Lance Long and Kody Thibodeaux.

Also, Evadale’s Tyler Torres and Chase Williams along with Hardin-Jefferson’s Bucky Lemons and Hull-Daisetta’s Matthew Smith.

To be nominated for Academic All-State, a student must be:

  • An athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team
  • Of good moral character
  • A senior
  • Have an overall grade point average of 92 or above (including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12).
