Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Committee on Aging presents the 49th Annual Senior Citizens Rally Day on Tuesday, May 8. Rally Day is free to all and will start at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center on Farm to Market Road 1442.

“This is the 49th year for this event, and it’s an event to inform our seniors about the resources available to them in Orange County,” said Fallon Foster, County Extension Agent with Orange County Family and Consumer Sciences.

All senior citizens are invited to this event whose theme will be “Feelin’ Groovy to be Healthy”. Seniors are encouraged to dress up in 60’s & 70’s clothing with a gift card given out for the best costume. Dressing up is not required.

There will be entertainment by the Heart to Heart Band, as wells as health vendors and health screenings.

Over 25 door prizes are to be given away and there will be bingo, photo booths, and free lunch for all Senior Citizens.  Bring any old eyeglasses you may have lying around and donate them to the Lions Eye Bank of Texas.

Vendors who have services available for Senior Citizens are encouraged to set up that day, however, the day is free to Senior Citizens so vendors are asked to not bring items to sell.
