Liberty clips Lady Cards in Game One

CROSBY — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals dropped a tough 5-2 decision at the hands of the Liberty Lady Panthers in Game One of their best-of-three 4A Region III area round playoff series at Crosby High School Thursday.

Game Two will be at Port Neches-Groves High School at 5 p.m. Friday followed by Game Three if necessary.

Kassidy Wilbur tossed all seven innings for the Lady Cardinals (26-8). She allowed seven hits and walked four.

Caitlin Denison was 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run while Kyndall Harrison also scored a run.

The Lady Panthers (22-11) jumped out to an early 3-0 leads. The Lady Cardinals got to within 3-2 in the fourth but the Lady Panthers escaped with the win by adding a pair of insurance runs.
