LC-M’s Peveto going to State in 1,600 with a new PR at Regionals

HUNTSVILLE — Little Cypress-Mauriceville junior distance running standout Eli Peveto punched another ticket to the Class 4A State Track Championships as he will compete in two events in Austin after he blistered the track at Bowers Stadium at Sam Houston State University Saturday, winning the 1,600 meters with a personal best time of 4:26.26.
Peveto’s previous best time of the season was 4:29.53 and he eclipsed that by a little more than three seconds.
Peveto is also going to State in the 3,200 meters after winning it Friday with a time of 9:47.66.
