Newton County man charged with child pornography

The Newton County Sheriffs Office received information that a resident of Newton

County had child pornography on his computer.

The Newton County Sheriffs Office contacted a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigation Office along with the FBI to help Newton County in this matter.

During the investigation enough probable cause was established to obtain a search warrant for a residence near the Pine Grove Community in Northern Newton County.

Officers from Newton County Sheriffs Office, FBI, DPS Criminal Investigation Division, Beaumont Police Department, and Newton Police Department executed the search warrant Wednesday April 25, 2018.

After the search warrant was executed, officers recovered evidence they were looking for to arrest a 54 year old white male with a Newton address.

The male resident was taken into custody and later arrested. The male suspect was transported and booked into the Newton County Jail.

Charges filed on the male suspect were:

1) Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography

2) Invasive Visual Recording

3) Possession or Promotion of Lewd Visual Material Depicting Child

4) Bestiality

Victims ages range from 5 years old to 15 years old. There were multiple victims.

Additional charges are still pending at this time.
