Petromart #114 located at 12099 Interstate 10 in Orange, received a health score of 79 out of a possible 100 during a recent retail food inspection.

Orange County Health Inspector noted on the report of the need for follow up visits to the establishment.

Demerits included several expired food items on the shelves and in the deli, uncovered foods inside the freezer, no hot water in the rest rooms, no paper towels in the employee restroom, spider webs found on the ceiling tiles and around lights inside the store as well as bird feces on the concrete outside the front door. The report also noted demerits for the storage area in need of being cleaned due to a truck/car tore being stored and the rest rooms were in need of being cleaned and sanitized immediately.

The store was also given 10 days to dispose of old gas pumps and front door, which were stored on the side of the building.

Demerits included several expired items on the shelves, employee’s restroom in need of hot water, and the walls inside the women’s restroom in need of repairs due to missing tiles as well as the restrooms in need of being cleaned.

Demerits included the need for the reach in freezers need to be cleaned inside of old foods, door to the restroom in need of being repaired due to Harvey damage, and the need to post current food service permit, all certified food manager certificates and current health code inspection report in the front of the establishment.

Demerits included several expired food items on the shelves, inside the milk and egg coolers needs to be cleaned and soap needed in the employee restroom.

Demerits included several expired food items on the shelves and drinks being stored on the floor inside the walk-in cooler.

Demerits included sanitizer bucket being stored on top of prep table, hot water needed in the restrooms, paper towels needed at the hand washing stations, and areas around the fryers in need of being cleaned.

Demerits included sausage and eggs at improper temperatures, food being stored inside plastic grocery bags inside the cooler, and light shields needed throughout.

Demerits included several expired food items on the shelves, motor inside walk-in cooler dripping water into three buckets, and to post current food service permit and current health code inspection report in the front of the establishment.

Demerits were for the need to have thermometers inside the cooler/freezer.

Demerits were for the inside of the milk cooler in need of being cleaned. Health Inspector also noted he spoke with the store manager about employee jewelry (nose rings).

Demerits included the ice and chip scoop laying on top of machines, improper jewelry was found on an employee and wiping cloths stored on top of prep table.

Demerits included no hot water at the three-compartment sink, the employee restroom in need of immediate repairs, and the walk-in cooler at 61 degrees.

Demerits included broken faucet at the three-compartment sink, no certified food manager or food handler certificates found, garbage from the previous night still at the back door and several areas in need of being cleaned.

Demerits included several products with expired dates or time stamps, chemicals stored on top of coffee machine, several areas in need of repairs or being cleaned.

Demerits included slight mold found inside the ice machine, ice scoop at the drive thru found laying on top of the ice and the need for a cell phone policy.

Demerits included several expired food items on the shelves, employee food and drinks improperly stored, as well as in need of cleaning and organizing. The health inspector noted daily follow-up visits were required at the location.
