Bilbo, Bears swat past Longhorns

LITTLE CYPRESS — Putting away Hamshire-Fannett with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears rolled to a 14-3 District 22-4A victory over the Longhorns at Gibbens Field Tuesday night.

The Bears (26-5, 8-2), who will start the Class 4A Region III bidistrict playoffs next week as the second-place seed out of 22-4A, put together 10 hits to brand the Longhorns (8-16, 1-9).

Chris Bilbo continues to swing a hot bat for the Bears as he piled up four runs batted in with two hits.

John Beeson followed suit with a big game as well as he collected two hits and three RBI while Truman Franklin also had two hits.

Reagin Burdette, Taylor Gilbert and Thayne Toomey each saw action on the mound for the Bears as they cruised to the victory, limiting the Longhorns to five hits.

Tye Boudreaux had two RBI for the Longhorns.
